There are no right or wrong answers, I'd just like to hear you opinions:
I like the 55' Chevy 2 door Post, a little better than the 2 door hardtop.
    However...... I like the 56' & 57 Chevy Hardtops better than the 56' & 57' Post.

(Also: I like 64' GTO's... with or w/o posts equally).

I personally like the 2dooor sedan in the '55-'56-'57 Chevrolets for several reasons the main ones are the extra leg room in the back seat, also wider passenger area in the back seat, and their more difficult to break into. With the coupe all you need is a coat hanger slipped between the side panes of glass.

  3. I have a 67 GTO. GTO all the way.

56 Chevrolets, especially 150 models and sedan deliveries. As far as the GTO, I like the 65's; 66 and 67 would be a 67, I like the grill and tail lights better on that year. Butch/56sedandelivery.

All right I'll buy in and give you my opinion.
Been a 55 Chevy owner since 1978 had both styles.
For a cruiser I like the Hard Top so you have more room to hang your arm out the window. For a Gasser the Post model. Just cuz it looks " Right" and just to be right again need to go ahead cut the quarter panels too:) There was only a gazillion of built there is still enough around to have all the styles.

If you're building a cruiser, or custom, it's the hardtop. if you want a musclular, bad-ass machine, it's the sedan. '57 make the best cruisers as far as the lines go, and the '55 makes the best stubby Hot Rod Machine. Especially with the Nomad rear wheel wells.
I'd rather have either, than have a Goat. Too many purists to modify the Poncho. Just my 2 cents worth...

    GTO's should all be hardtops

55-57's .... I don't like post Bel Airs.. don't like the trim around the windows.

    55 I like posts

    56 post or hardtop

57 hardtop... though a 57 post 150 would be cool

  14. Are you saying that GTO"s didn't come in post cars or that they shouldn't have been built with a post?

The roofline on the '57 hardtop is much nicer than the sedan.
    but I agree on the '55 I'd take a 2 door sedan.

Hardtop or Post Tri-Five ?, lets see now. As a teen it had to be a Hardtop or nothing. However of late I'm very partial to the post models. And a 57 150 is the Baddest one IMO. Oh, GTO's. Well being the past owner of 2 A Body GM products, I like my 56 better.

I like the solid sound of a 2 door sedan when you shut the door. I now own a red and white ,56 2dr sedan BelAir just like my first car back in 1966. I drive it every day, and it makes me feel 16 every time. Thanks

First two tri-fives I owned were '55 210 2 dr sedans. That's my preference for a '55. I like hardtops for '56 & '57. I actually like Nomads best but you didn't give that as an option. Also like '57 150 2 dr sedan.

For GTO it's gotta be a hardtop for me as well

I'd kill for a 1964 GTO, dark blue Post with black interior, 389 tri-power and a 4 speed.. Shit, front of my pants are wet......

  23. as far as tri five chevys go id take either sedan or hardtop in all 3 years last time i rode in one i was like 5 years old or so it was a 4 door 55 i dont remember anything about the ride
but IF i had to pick id prefer the hardtop in 55 and 56 and a post for 57 (mainly cause of project X hollywood knights years)

and the gto i aggree with whoever said they should all be hardtops but id take the 65 over a 64 in fact the 64 is my least favorite goat

just saying when it comes to GTO's, I like hardtops. if I were ever in a position to buy another one, I wouldn't even look at post cars unless they were original unrestored creampuffs..

Ha,ha I pulled up in a parking lot one day,a few years ago in my 4 door 55, got out and shut the door back and a big older like guy was setting there in his truck,He kinda laughed and said "I would recognize that sound anywhere even if I hadnt seen what you were driving":D
It brought a smile to his face and him saying that brought a smile to mine:D

My cousin had a '64 GTO single 4bbl 3 on the tree bootlegger car. Fast and stealthy. First drag race as a kid I rode in a '57 2-dr post. I guess I love 'em all!

55's are my favorite car in the world
56's are the coolest of the three
57 Sedan Deliveries, are soo menacing looking when done right!

  30. Since your asking for opinions, '65 GTO is the best looking Goat...hardtop or sedan.
