The 15th Annual West Australian Hot Rod & Street Machine Spectacular was help over the Aug 27-28 w/end in the Burswood Dome just minutes from Perth. MORE PICS SEVERAL POSTS BELOW (once I was told I could 'reply' to my own message [thanks LabRat] instead of a new post)
I am really impressed!!!!!!! Those are some really great looking rides. Way to go and thanks for posting. Always nice to see what's going on in other places around the world. Thanks Jimbo
You sandgropers always had interesting rides! I remember meeting a guy from WA at the '97 ASRF Nats. Dave Doggett?? he had a hopped up diesel sitting under the bonnet of 32-34?? rod. Took us for a ride & man it was a neck snapper! He wouldn't lift the bonnet and show anyone though. I suspect it may have had japanese origins. RodL
Yes the chassis was an educational display on the ASRF (Australian Street Rod Federation) stand. This & other unfinished cars are common in Aussie shows to inspire 'would-be' rodders.
September????? i know you are ahead on time a couple of hours but a month????can you give me the winning lotto numbers for that week please!!!!!!
some nice cars there, i like the gold chevy(minus the wheels). but somebody spent waaaaayyy too much time and money on that "boxie" IMO. just goes to show you can't polish a turd
No Jap Crap. That was a Chevy (I think) turbo diesel. I think he may have upsized the turbo a bit as well. He built another one or two turbo diesel powered rods after that one. He's a great bloke.
That's Ben Clements' wagon. It's his daily driver. Was set up as the push car for the Gasser display, complete with plank of wood on the front bumper For all you Yanks that think it's a funny looking Chevy wagon, it's actually an Aussie FC Holden, '59 model I think.
Now zip, maaaate... I know all of those cars were at the show, but not all of them, in fact most of them, don't really belong here on the HAMB. Here's a few of my pics, hopefully HAMB-friendly. This car might not be HAMB friendly just because of the wheels, but there's nothing wrong with the rest of it. Best thing about it is, it is home built, including the paint! LOVE this car. Once again, excuse the wheels. Wow. Just wow. Recent import. More in a minute...
S'more... My boy Luka sitting in a dragster. Yes, it's pink, but a girl usually drives it. My boy thought the Mad Max Interceptor was pretty cool too. One of my favourites, 'Rubber Ducky' from the Convoy movie. A yoot. A bit of early Aussie stuff in the car park. This one is an HR Holden. Some shitbox Rambler. Couple of killer bikes from Murray Kustoms. Sweet candy apple Tudor in the car park. Why wasn't this on the show floor???
Brootal, you are right. In my haste to post my 1st pics on HAMB I dumped them all. Too many non-trad cars there sorry. Consider myself disciplined!
I recall that Tudor. That Tudor got a petrol V8 after he sold it. The Diesel was swapped into his next project a pickup. He used a GM V8 and not a Jap. I think he has since sold the pickup. He is well known as 'Diesel Dave' and after his last visit here to my place he may have seen the light and be using a real Diesel (Cummins) in his next project.
Thats Blacky's FB ( formerly an oil burnin' monster ) as khim about his Narrandera effort. And I've gotta agree with Adam that Drag Safari FC wagon is great.
I also put a post up with a quick video of the event but didn't get a single reply. Anyway, here's the video...
