Ok can some one who has a 1956 Ford pickup 1/2 ton tell me where to find the vin/data plate.I know its on the frame for the vin number, but the tag location where is it. I need to know where it is supposed to be in the stock meaning from Ford location.
Hi, I'm on my way to bed, I'll check my 56 in the morning and get back to you. shot me an email and i'll send you the pic. Tom
See i hear it was different on the 56 thats why i need someone with a stock 56 to respond. Thanks for your response.
Isn't the A pillar the front of the door, where the windshield is? I've only ever seen them on the pillar at the back of the door, under the latch, held on by four phillips head screws. That doesn't mean the previous poster is wrong though. They could have mounted them in different positions from different factories. Look for four holes in a rectangular pattern on either driver's door pillar or on the glove box door.
Truck has been customized.no holes anywhere. But it sounds right for the front door A pillar lower part next to the light switch hole? RIGHT?. Anyone else want to confuse me further? ARRRGGGGH
I've got 4 56's (3 parts trucks) and they're all in the same place at the front. I guess calling it the A-pillar is wrong (senior moment), it's between the door hinges on the drivers side. Larry T
Just took all the panels off the kick panel(what a pain) yes there are 4 holes in between the hinges.Like this in the pic right LarryT......
