How has Irene effected the venue? The news showed a hotel in Parsippany in which the people were trapped as it was surrounded by water. The water was over the roofs of the cars in the parking lot.
There is no news posted on the Lead East site.

Is a portion of rt. 287 closed? I'm coming from NY. Is it a pain to bypass it?

the highway closure should not affect you getting to the show. made a pass throught the lot at the parsippany hilton this afternoon as i work just around the corner, and there are already folks setting up and hanging out in the lot. the show is going on! see you all there

We just arrived: came 78 got off on 287 first exit 206 North to 202 which ran us right into the hotel and we were fine despite our later escape from VA today making us miss the Radir party :( but we're here and happy for the weekend escape from Irene's rath at the house. Folks are setting up there islands, etc. and the hotel has lights, air and water SO come on kids - just be safe on the roads that are damaged.

Actually I do not believe this year has a special guest again, that's 2 years in a row. The last one was Chip Foose, who if you have ever met him knows that he is a true gentlemen and only compares to Gene Winfield (in my humble opinion) But the fellow gearhead friends we get to see each year here is better then any special guest to tell you the truth. The place really is an escape from the real world where you can't help but to get lost in the 50's

Spectator Parking Fee: (I'm reading from the handout) All Non Old Cars entering from Friday night on will be charged for parking by the Hilton to rent the parking lots and to help pay the costs of security and cleanup, No Trailer Parking Fee in Campus #6 for old car tow vehicles and trailers arriving before 5 pm Friday. ( I do not see how much the fee is, I'll, look when I cruise out)

Well i'm far from a gold chainer and I grew up with Lead East, I only missed the first one in Flemington. It's where I started my kustom car education and I'll never miss it. Then again, I'm not a rebellious hot rodder....

29 years our cars have come to Lead East, all on there own power from VA., this year we're in the '58 vette since its slates the World's Largest 50's Party. It's the best Time Warp I've found and we attend a fair share of shows. There are some great customs here, but the gearhead friends here are even better. For those who have never been to LE, try it, you'll be hooked. Lead East is my vacation :)

Congratulations. Oh, and I fixed your quote for ya...

Its the jelous people that complain about someone making money. If it was your idea I doubt you'd be cryin...IJS.

Thats the problem, this has become a "scene" with to many "scensters", have fun at your rat rod shows.
