I am about ready to put the visor back on the tudor, it is original and i have punched holes in it but it is flimsey as all getout. My question is do you guys add any support to the visor?

  2. it shouldn't be flimsey after you tack it to the top and put the two screws in on each end. maybe the holes you punched were to big. that might make it flimsey.

Heres' a pic of it. I'm not done metal finishing it and have it screwed up there more for safe keeping than anything else.
I am worried about the strength of the leading edge, i would have thought there'd be a wire in there but i think it is just a folded hem.
The pic may not show it, but the holes are aircraft stlye flare punched and have a deeper flare than an automotive flare.

  4. I would think that with all that flare around the edges it is stronger now.
When it is attached it should be fine.

hell I dont have any holes in mine and its flimsey..wait until you hit 70 or 80 on a windy day:eek:

im going to make a center support just a small triangle with gusset with feet on it to spread out the load, that should keep it from flapping too much

when you think about it , the original A didnt roll along at 80 , so it didnt need to be built any more ridgid than it was.

    just a thought

I did the same...I thought it looked weird on the 28/29 how the header was above the visor. Mine is not very flexible at all.
