  1. We might be neck & neck on the build, let's see your proof! Where's your thread? I think we might just have a full blown build off here!! Bring on your GOW, General!

That car is SOOO f-ing coool!!!!!!!!

  4. I got a assigned VIN back in '67 for a "T", had to put the number on the frame myself, visited the trophy guy at the bowling alley and he stamped a tag, and I screwed it to the frame. Then had a local policeman inspect and sign off on it. Had another number assigned for another "T" in the late 70's, this time a DMV guy came out to my house, put an embossed metallic sticker on the door jam, drilled a couple of holes, and put in some drive rivets. I would guess your tag was at least early '70's or older. Wish dealing with the DMV was still as easy today.

That is coming along nice. I'm glad to see you went back to the early front spring/ axle setup. As someone who was there back then, that car is SO 50's East Coast I'd be tempted to go with the traditional channelled East Coast plywood floor. That car has perfect mid '50's east coast look. NICE.

  9. ^^ What Mark Said ^^

Thx, I'm glad you like it. Yea it coming together nice, I think I'm going to put the radius rods back together with a 33-34 ball, it drops it a few inches and will clear the motor. It will also lower the radius rods and give me a little more caster with a the mild rake. I'll keep the plywood in mind if I get short on time. It very well could have had a wood floor, the body was welded and riveted to the frame. I didn't see any indication of a floor being welded to the frame.

Nice to have you aboard for the rid D ROD, that goes for everyone else that watching too. Thanks! The encouragement helps.

I moved things around so I could get to the welder.

I welded the flange nuts to the frame too, I like using the TIG welder!

  10. Loving the theme....i also have a taste for east coast style!

Swap your 34 brake pedal for an F1 brake pedal, you just need to take a few mm off the width of the pivot boss. I prefer this option over welding an arm on......scares me a little!

How did you go with pulley clearance with the front x member modified like that?

Man, you've been busy! Hey, I bought some of those step bits at Northern Tool - one of the few things that I bought from there that I was impressed with. If you slow your drill speed way down they will last a good while.

  15. I've been up in the air lately, east coast or classic highboy. Well I think my minds been made up for me. I just acquired a 33 Desoto grille, I think it's gonna be a three window Blue Bird!

  27. Did you coat the frame with anything to keep it from re-rusting while you work on it?
