If the 97 is the cool 2BBL, what is the cool vintage 4BBL?

Best looking: Early AFBs (like two of them on a 421 Super Duty)

Park that carburetor next to a modern Holley 1850 600 cfm carb, and you'll see the difference----the '57 carb has VERY small secondary venturis. It looks like the 8007 390 cfm carb.

....unless you want a carburetor that's reliable, performs well over the full range, and gets good gas mileage.

Pretty sure the Aussies had the Quadrajets working pretty well back in the pre-fuel injection days of touring car racing too from memory they are ment to flow pretty well.

I love the 4100's. I have two in my garage, both 600's. One is going to be a parts carb for the other during the rebuild (that I have been putting off for too long). :D

Here's the Weber 4 bbl - hands down the coolest but very rare and usually have a vintage Ferrari attached to them....;)

If it's the '70s you're talking about, these are hard to beat for cool factor....

  10. Yes! I had one of these on my '66 GTA Fairlane 390 and it ran great. A lot better than the 3x2 Holley's I had on it later, although they looked cooler they seemed to suck gas and catch fire a lot.

IMO, Holley 4150s all the way. They're traditional, but you can actually find parts and people who can tune them and all that. Plus, there's a reason they're STILL being used in drag racing.

Holy fuck, Batman. Those look SO good. But an Autolite(s) might look better on a small block. Gary
