Man, Does this bring back some memorys Or was that mamories? Anyway, this grey beard is totally hooked on wild paint. When I went to the first street rod nats in 1970 the paint was a mind bender. Sure ,there were a few resto-rods but I remember a pink pearl '40 coupe that was just bitchin, A '32 roadster named California Dream'in with rainbow panels on the silver flake fenders. I for one hope that the next generation of hot rodders grabs onto the fact that creative paint jobs can enhance a car. Maybe it's time to embrace the late 60's early 70's as you have with the 30's-40's and 50's. You guys and gals are the ones who will carry the torch . My wife always says, All this stuff will go to auction someday right? Yep, Sad but true, Indy

Some tins I painted for a friend last weekend. Really appreciate him taking a chance on me. I was pretty happy with the out come. Did a gold pearl/metallic base with Ed Roth's gold flake on top.

  15. How do painters get this water drop affect? Thats pretty sweet. Not something I'd wanna do alot of, but in moderation....I really dig it.

Water Drop effect is actually pretty easy. Once you have the base color you want under the water drop painted then you spray a mist of water on the paint forming the droplet size your after. Then with some thinned black paint in a touchup gun or some people have used a regular gun set to a small pattern with very little paint coming from the tip. You want to spray at the water drops with the least pressure you can to prevent them from "walking" and at an angle. Keep the angle consistent from the same direction for each half of the car or if doing a roof pattern then across the whole roof. Once you do this VERY LIGHT dusting of black you just let the water evaporate and there you have it.

  22. No small contribution Sir! It's a task to duplicate full sized paint jobs in scale....That's why you are one of only a very few who can pull it off! Beautiful work! You belong here....Thanks for posting.................Centurion9
