I wanted to see what else you guys have made for you mills cause you did'nt like what was on the market and you also wanted a custom touch. Here is a picture of the crank pulley I made at work cause I wanted to run a double belt setup on my 53 flatty. now I am in the proses of making matching water pump pulley's for my new drake pumps.

I figured on making the flatheads aluminum water pump pulley's the same dia. size as stock so there wont be an issue with turbulence from the impeller spinning to fast and churning the coolant.

I am going to volunteer a fellow club members Mike Lange stuff because even after 4 years it still amazes me.
His blower that he built. An Italmeccanica along with it's intake. Plus all the pulleys. carb scoops. The man is talented

Yeah he cast and machined the blower casing, milled the impellers and made everything o- ring sealed and with sealed bearings it's just fuckin nuts.

Yeah he figured out the gear reduction too for using a mechanical ww2 airplane tachometer off the generator.

Oh no he's hitched. For quite a while now. Lots of patience and a very awesome wife who understands his madness / genius.

Before he was bitten by the hotrod bug his talent was that of a vintage (pre WW2) motorcycle restorer / racer

Thanks! The Hallock is in the process, Made the hallock type frame out of 3/16 cold rolled sheet metal. Hope to grind and sand it for a clean chrome job. I raked it at 35 deg. to me the Hallock is awsome but I wanted even more streamline.

Just finished the driver bank touching up the braided plug wires. Tomorrow the passenger bank. Man I love how they look flowing into a Mallory 2 piece cap!

I was thinking on making a fuel rail out of billet. It would look good blasted to give the cast look. The more heat sink fins to match the heads the better I think. Whats your opinion?

Mike Lang is an artist! hands down. I wish I had enough time to finish all my small odd's and ends if it wasn't for family and work. But that's what playing hooky is for!

Just finished the water pump pulley's for the flathead! I made a pair of 304 stainles steel hubs to mount on the water pump shafts so I could bolt and remove the aluminum pulley's for maintnence on the mill. Double 5/8 V belt grooves to match the crankshaft pulley. I was thinking on making the tension pulley to run tucked down near the bottom corner of the block running a shaft driving the alternater behind the mill. I like the look without the generator or alternator jumbled in the way like an eyesore.

  26. I think Mr. Lange could make a lot of people happy if he cast some more of those blowers!

Yeah he made them originally just so he could have one and cast a hand full of housings. Doing this so he could recoup the money on the patterns and castings. Selling a few to collectors and the guy who provided the NOS Italmecannica blower to begin with.

Everything else is machined... by hand. The few that are/were around roughly the same price if not a little more that the S.C.o.T. blowers by H&H.

Nice job on the pulleys. Anytime you can make a piece that is functional and cool looking..... winner.

  29. Nice work. Stainless is a bitch to machine. Hard and gummy. What kind of taps do you use?
