wiring 53 hy-drive transmission

    i am rewiring my car and the trans has a switch facing the side and one facing the rear axle .
    is one for back up lamp and the other for overdrive?
    and if so which is which.
    if i had funds for a manual i would not be asking
    thanks

    To the best of my knowledge, Hy-drive Plymouths were not ever equipped with overdrive.

    But it IS a manual transmission, it's the Fluid Coupling/Torque Converter that is the problem.
