Got sidetracked a little. I didnt like the axle in front of the spring and the tie rod in front of the axle. This had been bothering me for a long time. I removed the 4" dropped tube axle. Took a 6" dropped tube axle and cut the hairpin brackets off of it. Had a local machine shop machine me some perch pin bosses, drilled the axle and tacked them in place to mock it up.
Ordered up a few parts from Speedway, some batwings, spring perches shock mounts, steering arms and a spring. Bolted it all in place. This shortened the wheelbase about 3.5" getting it where I originally wanted it and giving me the amount of drop I wanted. I think it looks much cleaner and I am really happy with the look. Still have to finalize shock placement and upper mounting and get it finish welded.

Man, I still like those Imperial lights. I bought a pair several years ago when I had the goofy thought of making a similar looking car out of a trashed but way cool 'glass boat hull with fins like a '58 Chevvy. Saner heads prevailed, and I sold them, and have been sorta sorry since...

thank you for letting me follow along your build.. i have speng the whole night reading this.. what can i say this stuff is better than any damn novel. :D i think you did a great job, and she looks fantastic in primer.. that just means she will be even better in paint. i hate to ask.. but you have to be asking your self the same question now.. what are you thinking for a interior?

also for all the people who wanted the hemi in the first 29 pages ( they sorta stop bring up the hemi around page 30 i think the engine has grown on them.. it looks fine to me with the old valve covers and the intake... with out that intake i think it would make the engine look narrow.. duel carbs make the engine look wider, optical illusion or iv been following along to long. hah ) anyhow, only reason i mention this is for when you go to car shows i can promise you.. you will hear the same thing.. so my idea is fine you want me to have a hemi in her.. pay up sucka.. have a table with a coffee can on it with a sign that says something like "you think it needs a hemi? add some cash to the can when enough of you have donated, ill put one in there.. till then pay up or shut up" or some shit i dunno.. hah

thanks for taking me along, has help me waste some hours of my boring life.
rock on.. subscribing to this bad boy.
