There are pictures and movies from years past here on last year's thread

If you like driving your Hot Rod on country roads with a bunch of other great Hot Rods
then this is a good time.

This event is FREE ............except your gas and food for your self.

Thanks to everyone who has come in years past and posted video and photos.

    Bad daddy,

I am glad to hear you are coming.

For everyone that is coming please let me know if possible.

It really helps me know how many directions to print and how many donuts to bring.

    Thanks
    Dave

I'm there too...that's a busy weekend for car activity, so it's pick and choose, but the Reliability Run takes precedence over the other stuff. High octane fun! See ya there!

Very cool. I have been waiting for a few years to get the LaSalle to driving condition to go on the run. And the run sounds great enough that the wife may want to go too....haha

I am glad to hear you guys are coming.

There are a couple of things I wanted to mention:

I really recommend you bring a "navigator" this year.

We can only fit 10 cars at a time on the ferries, so there is no way we will all be able to stick together. So you can't just follow the car in front of you, unless I am the car in front of you.

It is really easy to get lost out on the levee roads. And there are not too many places to turn around.

Plus you get to share the fun with someone else. :)

The ferries are Free, and run by Cal trans as part of the highway system.

Depending on the height of the river, (high or low tide) the ramp can be pretty steep, so really low cars will have a hard time getting on and off the ferries.

When I say really low, I mean ground scrapping low, my roadster had no problem, and I imagine most of the hot rods will have no problem. But if you are the type of car that worries about speed bumps, you may scrape if the river is low. Just a heads up.

Here is a pic of my roadster so you can see what will make it.

by no means is my car low, it is just a frame of reference.

Like I said most hot rods will make it, especially since most of them have a shorter wheel base.

One last thing, this year we will have a "pit stop" between the start and lunch, so you guys can take a break and go to the bathroom if needed.

I can't wait to go drive it again with everyone else.

No we are not ending up in Napa, sorry guys.

I don't always come back to where we start, just sometimes.

I also normally don't tell where we end, so that it is only for those on the run.

However I can tell you that we are ending at a bar-restaurant over looking the river, and we will be south of Rio Vista. I know that some of you all will be familiar with it, and it has a nice river view.

There should be plenty of parking and easy access to highways for your return home.

    I hope that helps.

Anyone got a spare seat for a good friend of mine?

He's the koolest dude in All of Japan, and always helps out a LOT of rodders & bikers that come out to Japan for shows etc with his high quality English.

He's in San Fran/San Jose for a work IT trip and asked me if there was anything cool to do on the 10th or 11th.....

It would be a lifetime experience for this kat, who plays in a Tokyo Rockabilly band, and searches the world for old leather jackets/bikes/vintage guitars etc....;)

He can certainly come up and stay here and I can take him out to Tardels, and some other cool spots.

I have my old lady in my car, but I am pretty sure that he will be able to get a ride, so I would tell him to plan on coming.

I know if I was in Japan, I would go for it.

you can give him my number from the flier above, and I'll set him up.

    Tim,
I am glad to hear that you find the river view romantic.

Perhaps you should bring along your wife to share the moment.

I am not much of a spooner, and it is not that kind of party.

If you are looking for bro-mance.........
I think your best bet is to ditch the water wings, and go under........then maybe a rescue worker will give you mouth to mouth cpr.

Now let's get back to some hot rodding.
