I'm looking to see if anyone has made their own felt strips that go at the base of the glass to keep it from scratching at the base of the window opening. I was thinking of buying a piece of aluminum and wrapping it with felt and riveting it on. I made a test piece and it looks great but the hobby store felt just doesn't seem durable.
Used to be you could buy long pieces of it from any local glass shop, or from JC Whitney. They have some rubber molded in the middle, and the steel backing is notched so you can bend it around corners. I've never thought of makign my own, neat idea. Might look into using the soft side of velcro instead?
What Jim said. Then to attach it I drilled 2 little holes about the size of a staple, and then used pieces of paper clips pushed through and twisted inthe back. They,ve been holding tight for over 6 years so far.
A few years ago I did a industrial job that called for some felt. You can get a high grade of felt at mcmaster.com. It will bond great with 2 ton epoxy. JC
Are you talking about window channel felt (u shaped), or the felt at the top of the door, where you rest your arm (fuzzies) ?
The way I'm understanding it he is looking for the "fuzzies" as am I. The link is for the "U" chanel rubber which I will need also.
Door fuzzies where you rest your arm. Here is the link. http://www.jcwhitney.com/inner-and-...universal/p2008570.jcwx?filterid=d1603y1953j1
