I'd guess for visual shock appeal on a worthless show car it could look trick, but I wouldn't want drive the thing much less run into something with one.

I threw up in my mouth a little.

These guys are going to get someone killed. You can have over 25 years of experience, and still be doing it wrong. See example above.

  3. I'll sit back and wait for the first wrongful death lawsuit. Nothing like going backwards just for the sake of different. I'm sure some will buy into it for the "KOOL" factor. As for me give me strong first thankyou.

I am pretty sure that we 3D modeled this, we could show how it would fail during normal operation, let alone an accident.

no need for 3d modeling,, I solve it for you,, that thing has 0 <<<< (das a zero) again 0 (wished there was such thing as capitol numbers) ZERO torsional rigidity.

I seen it at the Nats, scared the hell out of me just looking at it. I guess some big deep pockets guy will buy one, build him a high end show car, never drive it I hope, so he can win a 2.00 trophy, to add to his collection.

  9. After viewing their web site about all I can say is they show a attractive women but not much of the frame,,

Besides,,this is a traditional web site and that frame ain't. HRP

It is frightening that someone can be that ignorant that they think these chassis are acceptable!
You guys will have to get engineers certificates like we have to here in Oz soon because of crap like that, its not fun, costs $$ and makes a build that much harder, but SAFE!

I agree 100% with this,.... Besides that,..WHAT THE HECK IS THIS DOING ON A TRADITIONAL HOT ROD SIGHT ?

So,.. I would like your opinion on this product,.. And when it's use is appropriate ? :D

I completely agree the frame in question is wrong for many reason, the greatest of which is lack of strength.........but your post suggests some serious attitude issues with people who are financially better off. Not everyone with means is a no nothing show-off or trophy seeker.

Your opinion about them has nothing to do with the question about this frame.

That is NOT a frame it is purely art deco. It's probably only good for a trailer queen show car. Then again why?

That is just plain wrong, it makes me quiver, had to turn my head. The site is nicer and stronger than the product.

I think it was the model on the sight that was making you "quiver" :D,.. Scrap the chassis, keep the model ! (she's kind'a purrrrdy,... but I think she bites her nails)

BTW - I see that "Delrod" lists his occupation as "hot rod builder." Let's see, he's a "hot rod builder" from "West Kentucky," and yet his first exposure to this POS chassis (built in Paducah, KY) is at the Nats? And he signs up here just to post about it? He may not own the place, but I'm betting that he's involved somehow.

This one was at Pate. Kinda cool to look at, but I don't think I'd want to build a car on it. Looks to me like there is a LOT of room for flex. And maintainance (just checking bolts) would be a major bitch.

What would be so hard about welding plate on top and bottom to make it safe? It would be a nice looking frame, and at least useable. What I'm seeing here is plain stupid.

I have an RC Car that is constructed like that. It shakes itself apart and has less than 2 hp...

As an engineer, doing an DFMEA on that thing would a nightmare. The risk of a bolt coming loose, or the torque of an engine twisting that chassis is to great for me to want to use it.

However, I will dispute the earlier comment about form following function. If you read their website the function of this chassis is to provide an easy to assemble chassis and get you on the road quicker. So it seems to me that this chassis is marketed towards the guy who wants to build a hot rod but has no mechanical aptitude.

and i'm not sure but looking at the pics those look like stainless button head screws which stainless has a less shear strength causing them to break easier ! be one thing if they were machining their own threaded spacers out of sufficient sized material and welding them from the inside and having the bolts for backup and looks but those althread couplers arent rated for much strength either when turned on their side like that !as stated needs welded , if they dont wanna box it the least they could do is sleave every hole and weld the sleaves to the inner and outer rails to hold it together , not rely on a mechanical fastner to hold something together that goes through thousands of suspension cycles and torque loads !

Ha ha ha, I'll respect that!

Delrod, there are 3 pages of experts stating what a bad idea this is. You show a truck that you claim to have built. Did you build it with shoestrings and JB Weld? What did you use for.the front suspension? Did you cut the front off an original MII and bolt it to your frame? The five lug wheels tell us its not stock, so what did you do to it? Pictures, please.

There is no engineering in that pile at all. You'd be better off with an unboxed original model A frame as far as rigidity goes. The chassis regidity is not just needed to keep in one piece (which I don't think would be very long on this one) but it also makes the suspension work correctly. Driving this thing over bumps could probably get pretty scary. It won't take long for someone to lose control and sue the crap out of them and end of story.
