NO. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

I saw their ad in Ol' Skool Rodz at the grocery store. That should say enough right there.

  5. I don't see them starting a trend.

Hmmm! Looks like they got a water jet and thought they would go in to the frame buisness cheap. Though it probably isn't, it looks that if you put some serious ponies to it time and again it would'nt last. I'm thinkin someone just tryin to make money while this ratrod trend is goin down. If I was really proud of that frame I would'nt be coverin it with a pretty girl and actually give some seriously detailed views. IMHO.LB.

    Giant erector set!

  11. Side plates are laser cut 1/4" mild steel plates.
Then pairs are bolted together with coupling nuts as spacers.
This design, allows them to make a frame with little, to no, welding.

How much cycle testing/FEMA was done before they started selling these ?

That I kind of figured they would but how many times is that frame gonna hold that kind of abuse. To much potential for the rails to shift, tweak or just plain loosen up. LB

Glad you brought it up, seen their ad the other day got me to wonderin. Says at thier site they have only designed and tested this design in the last year.LB

  18. Looks like they are trying for some kind of darwin award there. What is to stop that frame from folding up if it has a heavy side load? Those bolts aint stopping shit. God forbid some poor fool with one of those frames gets T boned!

If you really needed to ask what hot rod guys think about something like this, I would suggest that you go to some more cruise nights, read some more real hot rod magazines, And you will find your answer....At first I thought it was a joke, then I seen how very well the site is put together and realized that these guys are serious......I hate to even comment on what I think of it as there may be children in the room......I have no doubt that these guys are not good at what they do, (whatever that might be) It clearly says they have over 25 years exp, But I am thinking maybe they should design space stations and leave the hotrodding chassis designs to hotrodders. just my 2 cents

I wish I could unsee that! Truly terrifying! don't even have enough room to explain how wrong that is... A complete lack of torsional ridgitity comes to mind first off.

I think the OP is the guy responsible for this abortion. Or is it just a coincidence you're trying to convince us that this is a good idea and you're from the same area that the manufacturer is?

Something you need to learn about hot rodding man, FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION. This frame will not function, therefore there's no reason to form it in the first place. I hope you have amazing insurance and lawyers, you're going to need them if anybody gets one of these chassis' on the road!

You may be into rat rods and shock value, but here we prefer to keep things traditional and safe. Your frame is neither.

Noticing that it looks like you are from that same area as the guys on the website, And You posted this link before even introducing yourself, And the fact that your comments seem somewhat defensive, Makes me wonder if you are the designer of the frame. If so that is fine just be level with us....we told you what we think, As a hot rod chassis builder that design is not safe! Those frame plates will flex in driving conditions, And when that happens it will put stress on those button head screws causing them to snap one by one, after long term use it will plain and simply fall apart.....As far as how it looks Just not my cup of tea....

No problem, welcome to the hamb...My advise would be to stay away from those guys promoting that frame, As it is a death trap. Build whatever you want but keep it safe So you do not get hurt or hurt anyone else...You will learn alot from guys here. Some of the best builders in the country are members....welcome aboard!

That doesn't look very strong at all. Seems like it would flex too much. I'd like to see one in person, but from the pics... no way could that work for long.
