Ouch !!! The caption said the driver survived the crash, hard to believe though.

Steve McQueen's butt mark on the hood would certainly add to the provenance of this Ferrari!!

Hey, Roadkill, sorry you couldn't sleep, but GLAD you posted more
of that GREAT series of pix. REALLY, dood, ya have to shake those
nightmares  about Chryco Bumps, or you'll NEVER get any sleep! :D

Of your numerous cool shots, this gas station really grabbed me. It
could be one of a million that looked pretty much just like this. But it
reminds me of Bob's Sohio on a corner about a mile from our house
when I was a kid and teen. About the only diff was at the left where
he set his bid red '55 Diamond-REO wrecker.

These pix typify my very favorite aspect of Dog's thread -- and I think
guys and gals who are regulars and regular watchers get this too:
When a LOT of these shots were snapped in the first place, they were
of ordinary, even mundane daily life.:p And though we all have those
faded, vague "mental pictures," there's NOTHING like a real photo
to help savor a memory.:) Am I right? This generic "small-town" shot
could be about anyplace in the mid-'50s, but it has the feel of MY little
hometown in southeastern Ohio.;) Anybody else feel that way when
    scoping pix on this thread???

This one has something special to it, from the sergeant's smile to the
awesome angle on a really keen Dodge. And, the rest below are just
plain, well, SWEET real-life shots! Yeah, I'm a ham! :p

I straight fuckin shed a few tears watching that video, very emotional thinking of all those who lost their life and did not live to celebrate the end of the war in the pacific.

What has happened to the United States of America :( Why are we making their death in vain selling our country out in debt.

    I felt the same way.

    And...asked the same question.

me too. that is the best damn video i've seen in a long time. I'm pretty sure that needs to be a nationwide commercial on the 4th of july or some other national holiday. i still have goosebumps...wow.

  22. I've watched it over and over again with a tear in my eyes and wondered those same thoughts. They gave so much to preserve what WAS America, and it seems now most of that image and prestige has been pissed away. God only knows how this will end. It makes me sick to think about it much. Sorry for the rambling, but it does get to you after a while.
Now, back to some old black and white pix and BEER!

  26. I disagree. They're very much appreciated and definitely part of the "days gone by" vibe.

This is obviously a Henry Ford commissioned replica of the Model T.
Is this the grandchildren? and Dear old Dad had a 'one of' replica of the 15,000,000 T built for them?

I don't know but imho that is not a cheap mass produced 'toy'.

Would sure love to have one parked in my garage!
