Had an interesting day...Met up with Trace Edwards at the Long Beach Arena this morning. Took the Merc,so we could go over the new car entrance to the Outside Show parking. He asked me to bring my Merc cause last year when I tried to pull in,I caught the power colds and unplugged everything, haha! That's why I left my car outside by the registration booth. This year, the cars will enter at Shorline Drive and Pine Ave,and drive up the handicap ramp on the corner. Then you will follow the sidewalk to the right and we will park you along the edge of the grass, sorrounding the water. When you exit, you will follow the walkway to the ramp across from where the registration booth was last year,East end. The test run worked just fine. Then we drove the Cruise Route. This year it will be on Shorline Drive only, and the street will be closed off. NO BUSSES OR TAXIS getting in the fucking way!!! It will go from the south corner all the way to the hairpin, where the Indycars turn around in the Grand Prix. Lots of room for "gear bangin" and "ROOMA-ZOOM ZOOMIN"!!! The Cruise will open to any car,pre-1969,that is parked in the outside show, grass area. Obviously, the cars inside the Arena will not be able to cruise. @@@ Motorama, Shorline Drive, Cruise @@@ It will Saturday night,Oct 1st,from 6PM to 9PM. Open headers is OK,per Trace. Pre-1969 cars There's plenty of grass across the street, and on the show side, to set up chairs and watch the cruise. I'm looking forward to it! Should be much better than last years, cause it's closed to traffic. More info available at www.LBMOTORAMA.COM
Thank you Bob for takin' your Saturday morning to help me get the cruise route and load in/exit down so that we'll have no hang ups! See y'all at a car show soon.
Man I CANT WAIT!!!!! Everyday I just keep thinking about it! We are even going through the dragster for the event. New paint, freshen the engine up. Wish I could cruise the dragster down the road
