might be going to bonneville for the first time

hey guys, i might be going to bonneville for the first time. have to figure out the logistics. got some questions. and yes i did a search for "bonneville".

1. if i decide to camp at the bend, are there toilets there?
2. got kids so i was wondering if there is phone service there in case
someone needs to get a hold of me, if there is an emergency. i have
sprint.
3. how far away is the truck stop that everyone speaks of?
4. thinking about flying and renting a car. any recommendations on a car
rental company in salt lake city?
5. is there some kind of car show at the casino in wendover?

My AT&T phone service worked well at the BEND and out on the salt. Rental car companies CAN be ugly to deal with if ya return a car with any signs of salt still on or in the car...be careful! DD

 

I have Verizon and have never had a problem with service on the salt or the Bend In The Road.

 

My Sprint phone worked OK.

 

Hey, a lot of rental joints in SLC won't rent you a car if you're going to the Salt, so don't mention it to them, and if they ask, LIE!

 

Google map Bonneville salt flats for a lay of the land. There are a few power car washes in Wendover to wash your rental. The Bend is the best place for us Hot Rodders, but the KOA in town may be more kid friendly. Swimming pool, miniture golf, basket ball courts, and a few arcade games. plus showers and decent bathrooms instead of the Honey Buckets that fill up fast. Plus the Rainbow Casino is across the street, and I believe they have an arcade room. Have a good time, wish I was going this year.

Spend some time at the car wash after you leave the salt for the last time. Get all that salt off your rental car. And have fun!
