Leaving the butt crack of before dawn on Thursday the 11th, running two bikes this year, should be fun and I can't wait.

A picture request if possible. I am building a model of a bonneville car, and I need a pic of the track area and "floating mountain" to use as a backdrop. I do not want any cars or other stuff in it-just salt, the mountain and sky. It would also be neat if you can get a bit of the course in it. I need it as large as your camera will take it, and as high of a resolution as possible, since I need at least an 8" by 10" print. Please PM me if you can send me a copy. Thanks a bunch!

Here are a couple different views. One without floating mnt. but still a nice shot.

    Good luck.

  20. It was just about ready for paint then, all the guys wanted "patina" but I'm sure happy with how it turned out. Now I want to redo the '58 but I'd have to pay for that one. :p It's good to have a racing buddy that owns a paint shop.

Wendover experienced 2 rain events yesterday and last night. We are waiting for an "on the salt report"
With the predicted 100 Deg. temps this weekend, doubtful much water will last long. More when we know it."

Keep an eye on www.scta-bni.org for the up to the minute situation.

Right on! I'll be in my roadster, more than likely bombing around with a '38 Chev pickup and the Doug Rice '39 Ford, now owned by Don Richardson.

Thanks for the pics DYNOROOM! The first one and the third one are what I was looking for. Do you have any that are bigger? I don't know if these can be printed large enough for a background.

What do you mean "Beggars can't be choosers"? Yuk Yuk Yuk!

    Thanks again.

Today's afternoon report, follow-up from my earlier post:

    "8-3-11

    2PM

    REST EASY!

Yes a thunderstorm hit Wendover yesterday and last night, but the Intrepid plant only recorded .03 inches on their rain gauge and out at the race course(s) an onsite check finds the salt dry today. There are possible thunderstorms predicted for tonight . Stay tuned."
