To lake pipe or not to lake pipe, that is the question

    No. And No means No.

  2. I faced the same dilemma with my black 41 Pontiac....needed SOMETHING to separate the black car from the dark ground shadow. I searched around till I found a pair of NOS rocker moldings..much better! Then I thought I wanted flames on my car...I had a buddy do them for me and I liked them! For about 5 minutes.
My vote is for new rocker moldings, no flames and a quality set of knock-offs for those wheels.

  3. Not for a hot rod. If it were a tail dragger and they were functional then yes but not for a hot rod. I do think dumps would look cool on your car if you were running a V8. I know I'll probably get flamed for saying this but I love to see old school low buck dumps, (a big piece of black pipe with a cap screwed on the end) on a real hot rod. There's just something beautiful about the utilitarianism of it.

Very cool coupe.. No lake pipes but I would lower it some(more in the front),and put some steelies on it.. Even if you don't, it's still a cool ride......

I've dropped it 3 inches in the rear and about 4 in the front. I'm at the limits of the stock suspension. I'll be doing a stub on the front when I do the V8 so I can get it in the weeds. The back will get some kind of treatment to get rid of the blocks, maybe a triangulated 4 link but for now, I'm gonna drive her till she breaks. I had the steelies on it but they are too narrow for my taste. I'll be adding some kind of centercap as soon as I find something I like.

They dont fit the style of that car at all, a set of dump tubes would be right at home though.

No lake pipes! If you want to drive it and not be annoyed after a few thousand miles, just keep a nice exhaust under the car, not to mention the engine will run better with exhaust.
