Hello Everyone, I just purchased this from a friend of mine. I love the body style. I have a ball park idea of what year it is. I have always wanted one. Its a 5 window I think its a 31? I'm not familiar with them to tell the years apart. Please help me out. I can only think of the HELL i'm going to go through trying to get a title for it when done. Once I get started I will open a work log and keep you all posted. Thank you in advanced.
try to find/get numbers from the frame or body if possible. Kinda looks like handyandy289 says in the 30-31 range. First purchase a weed-eater though.
Looks like a good start, but I would recommend getting the title figured out first before you sink a lot of money into it.
I looked for the tag on the firewall and there is nothing there. Its rough but they are so hard to find here since they where all cut up for racing in the past. No frame to check comes without the frame just the hood, Grill and running boards. Cant wait to get started on this build. Thanks all
Nice garden art..... Dose it have a dent on firewall for fuel bowl? Are the gauges round or oval? Presuming it has gauges. Its a 30 or 31.
Look under the gas tank, on the firewall, inside the coupe.. If you see two rectangular pieces of metal spot welded opposite to where the radiator support rods connect to the firewall it is a 31. If not it is a 30. They added these in 31 to give more suppport to the firewall in that area. A dead on way to tell what year.
Because if for whatever reason he's not able to get a valid title, it's a lot better to find that out before he's spent a lot of time and money.
The grille should tell you. '30 radiator shells are smooth shiny metal above the core (where the Ford badge is); '31 shells have the center portion recessed and painted.
