I'd love to find one of those hoods, preferably up my way or with reasonable shipping.

Thinking of selling this one. It is my dad's and he can't drive it anymore. :( 327 3x2 intake 3 speed manual w/OD, 12 bolt w/ 3.08 gears. Nice driver but needs cometics redone. I've been driving it around but I have no place to keep it.

I just got a 1966 Chevy 1/2 ton long box. 250 six, truck 4 speed, 12 bolt, 51,000 actual miles.....bla,bla,bla. What is the best way to lower it 3" all the way around. Blocks in back? Cut one coil in front? Going to do it soon, any help would be appreciated. Keeping this one old school. It's going to stay a daily worker. Thanks, Gary

In the front you can cut the springs if you like your ride to be like a hay wagon. I would say you can get away with drop springs for just a 3in. but you might have to go with spindles. The back you can use blocks or drop springs or a combo of both. I'm not sure how far you can go before you have to get a longer pan hard bar though. I want to say 4 inches but I lowered my '65 over a year ago and I can't remember. Check out CPP or Early Classic Enterprises and you can figure out what you will need. Hope that helps!

If you want to make it level you need to go 2" lower in the back. If not just order 3" drop springs. If you do some searching you can find them cheap. I got mine off eBay for 80 a pair free shipping. Best way to go. Just my thoughts. I've never been fond of heating or cutting coils.

I cut 1 coil off my front springs and 5" dropspring in the back. My truck sits level and rides like a Cadillac. That is after I removed my front bump stops.

I started working for a local Chevorlet Dealership just out of high school in 1968 (Before the Military). Anyway, they needed a hood in the Parts Dept. (Second floor no elevator), so they sent me from the body shop. That hood was huge! Anyway, that's when I found out how Big the 60' - 66' Chevy truck hood was!

    My 66 shortbed.

Bought it at Pomona swap early last year, in Australia now.

Gave it a re-paint, fresh 350, speed man

Ouch, I moved mine just around the shop, 15 feet and was not impressed. Couldn't image removing solo, who are you Atlas. ;)
