Actually my dad scored today but I was there. This may be a future father son project. We went to look at 2 1950 Ford 2 doors today. Supposedly they had been in this building for 30 years. Cars were complete with spare flathead, 2 overdrive transmissions, extra heads and a trunk full of parts. We looked them over for a few minutes and my dad and the seller struck a deal. A pretty good deal in my opinion. The car with the hood up has a flathead that was rebuilt many years ago and has an excellent interior but the floor pans are gone and a bit of rust in the right quarter. The other car has an excellent body but interior isnt to good. The motor is out but is complete setting in the corner. The trunk is full of parts, even a dodge lancer hub cap (maybe theres 4 in there). Im hoping I can work a deal with my dad to get them from him. Of course I dont need them but I always wanted a 49 or 50 Ford.We wont be able to pick them up for about a week (going on vacation) so I will post more pics then. I just had to post this, they arent even mine and it feels like christmas.
Actually they are pretty close to twins. Both were originally black and still are. However one has a pea green interior and the other has tan.
My dad has had several 49 50 Fords during my lifetime and Ive liked them whether they are sedans, coupes, convertibles, or wagons. I havent ever been a big fan of the 4 doors but that doesnt mean that it couldnt be done to satisfy me. For some reason even tho they are simliar Im not a big fan of the 51, think its the grille. This may sound crazy but I am currently on the first day of a seven day vacation and I cant wait till its over, that means its closer to time to go pickup the twins. I got this hot rodding disease bad.
