why? is he checking for stuck valves on the driver side? not being a smartass just trying to learn something.
That is one of the coolest things I've ever seen done to an engine. I'm not smart enough to ever think of something like that!
That's a conversation piece... or should I say an awkard silence piece? I think it's kind of cool. Kind of.
wingnutz showed me how to post embeded videos. look out! <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/GDtBGoTiQ90" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Watch out the MAN is reading every post making sure you only post something once EVER, and you are NEVER allowed to post it again. Of course the MAN has appointed himself the "New Sheriff in Town".
And just when you think you have seen it all ! Bet he would get a lot of attention at a rod run like that, LOL.
Neat video. Didn't someone build air compressors on a similar idea? One bank of cylinders was the engine like in the video, the other bank was modified to be an air compressor.
That's the French Flatty in Old Rusty and that's my Birmingham accent you can hear. - (Think Ozzie osbourne without the slurring). I had a old 21stud years ago, and discovered quite by accident that it would run with only one head on. I fitted the French motor and discovered a knock when revving when warm. I pulled the head to see what was up and remembered the one head trick on the old 21stud. The water was drained, so I only ran it as long as it took to capture on film - just because I thought gearheads would get a kick out of it. I posted it last September so it's not quite a year old yet. Turns out the French Pistons were just touching the Offenhauser heads - mismatch in dome shape. Fixing it was another story - It's amazing what you can do with a 12" dreadnought file and an angle grinder! Mart.
Very, very cool. Enjoyed seeing that to get a perspective on how things are moving at idle. Imagine the image at wide open throttle!
So sorry I missed it the first time around! I didn't mean to take up your time I know you have lots of post to inspect and check against past post and check for correct content. But it was the first time I have ever seen it and I just got a little excited thinking some of the guys on here may enjoy it. In a side note you may want to try an get laid once in a while(I here it releases tension) Bob
ive got a couple of flatheads but im not real familar with them.but id never would have thought that possible. thats amasing. love it!!almost tempted to go pull a head on my 8ba!!!lol
One of the comments on the youtube site said that since the water passages could be blocked off individually to each side of the engine it could run all day like that. Is that true?
Nope but WE all have to remember that if there is something cool automotive it is a pretty sure bet it has been discussed here before Truly an amazing testament to how much info is stored in these archives
