Man oh man, in-fucking-sane. This build thread rules. I'm cataloging it up there with 193257's Emerald Tide build. Brilliant, Ian.

That's amazing work. Definitely looks too easy...dangerous for those of us less-skilled! We might get a little false confidence.

hey Ian, really nice lookin Caddy!! the chop worked out really great and the fins look coooolll !!
Looking forward to see what you do with the front and rear ends

BTW with the baking soda..do you make it into a paste and apply it after the tinning ,and before the actual lead loading?

I love this car. I have had the hots for this body style caddy for quite a few years. My stepdad had one parked behind a barn in MO when I was a kid that he sold off even though I wanted it. I guess I never shook the lust for it.

What you have done to this car is spot on. It amazes me how strait it is considering what it looked like when you started.

I can't wait to see what you do to the lower fins and bumper. Just down the street there is a '61 sitting in a guys backyard. 6 years ago he didn't want to sell it, but now it has a for sale sign on it. You have inspired me to lust after these cars more than I already have! Great build, I love watching the subtle, but amazing mods.

Thank you very very much guys! Glad you guys dig it!

I'm not very good at keeping my shot on the DL, so here's a mock up of the grille! Stock in the front and front grille out back too.... Continuity ! I like that..... Flow! The bumper will be modified to follow the peak of the grille and the grille will be trimmed to fit.... Not as tall as the front, and the trunk will be pancaked and peaked like the grille! With red light in the background , for night cruising! :)

I never saw this thread before. All of the appropriate adjectives have been used. I read one time that "a laborer works with his hands, a craftsman with his brain and an artist with his heart." It's easy to see which catagory (sorry, but I like the cats too), you are in.
