Was a member every year starting with the second one and flipped my membership card in the wastebasket when they announced the '81 year cutoff. I'll probably start going again when I get the prostreet Yugo finished but not before.

  9. Quick list of places to eat in Louisville while at the nats.
Fish O'Bryans Bar on Dixie Hwy (US 31)
Fish/Seafood Mike Linnigs Cane Run Road
Burgers Two lane bar and package liquors Old Bardstown Road just south of Gene Snyder fwy I-265/841
Barbecue Bootleg In the same parking lot as Two lane
Mexican Chuy's At corner of Shelbyville rd and Watterson Expwy I-264
Pizza Bearnos 5 locations Thick crazy pizza
Pizza Spinelli's 3 locations Philadelphia style huge slices
Pizza Wicks 3 locations all listed Pizza joints are killer
Barbecue Juicy's Out by Ford Ky Truck Plant on LaGrange rd
Sea Food Captains Quarters Higher end on the Ohio river. Very good

Cuban Havana Rumba 2 locations. Killer stuff if you dig that sort of stuff

Only 2 places that dont serve alcohol are Juicy's and Bootleg. There is no alcohol sold in Jefferson county until after 1 on sunday. Outlying counties may not sell alcohol at all on sundays if that is your thing. We have more dry counties than wet ones in the state that produces 95% of the Burbon In the World...
If any other locals want to chime in or you have a place you dig eatin at while here, please add it. If you can't tell, I love to eat. A lot...
There are many more to add. If you have a specific type of food you dig, give me a yell and i will be happy to let you know. Happy eatin and hotroddin, Kenny

I understand the guy's who don't like the late model stuff, a tradition was broken and to them it can't be fixed. I would rather look at a nicely restored super sport chevy or a mach 1 mustang rather than some '40's or '50's truck cab thrown onto an S10 frame with a tractor grill and plenty of rust and goober welding. There seems to be plenty of those. I even overheard a guy saying he threw one together so he could drive all over the fairgrounds as a member instead of beating feet like I have to. I'm a local so it's not as disappointing as a guy that travels a long way. It will be hot as usual, bring plenty of sunscreen.

Man I'm looking forward to the Nats. Yep hot weather and a thunderstorms. But I've had a great time every year I've gone. Met some great folks and that's what it's all about to me. It took me a little while to find this thread so if I've posted something somewhere else looking for it "never mind". I'll see everyone at the meet and greet.

  20. I really like stooges or two lane for the cheese burgers. stooges serves a ford, ups, and several other large industrial places in the area. very safe and all of their food is killer. lcated on grade lane.two lane is my hang out, and their burgers are top notch. burgers are free there on thursdays for a HUGE bike night. Cheap steaks are the usual. outback, and so forth

hotroddon, Lynn's is where the wife and I go with friends every time we'er in Louisville, good food and a killer place to see some crazy stuff. Last year on sat night there was about 18 of us show up got seater in about half hour, not bad for a small place.

  22. Lynn's Paradise Cafe is a great one too as mentioned. They have world famous biscuits and gravy. All of thei food is good and all the stars (hollywood, nfl, nba, mlb, politicos) seem to show up there during The Kentucky Derby...

Since you are on the food in Louisville kick....

I used to go to a restaurant in Louisville and I've tried the last two or three visits to find it with no luck. It was an italian restaurant in a house. It was next to a bar/tavern that I think had something to do with sheep or lamb in the name or irish heritage. I'm pretty sure it was fairly close to the bar district, the old one, not that 4th street live thing.

    Thanks for the help!
