A buddy of mine found ths little gem Saturday , and of course he bought it , on that Thursday , he was asking me what one of these cars is worth , I told him I saw a couple of them on here for big money , needing redone , this car has been in this little barn for approximately45 years , it has the usuall rust in the usuall places , but , it's complete , he's talking about flipping the car , I told him he was nuts!!!! , but, here's the pics he sent me of the car.
If he was asking what one was worth there had to be some thought of flipping it versus a car he wanted to build and use. Looks like a good start for someone being complete, they are still out there. Good score.
Man , he told me he gave just under 7g's for it , he is wanting 8g's , guess he'll have that thing for a while.....
3K to 5K max depending if it has all the doors with it and a clear title. He's going to have a real hard time getting his $7K back. nice little coupe but he paid to much.
Corndog on here has a pretty nice looking running and driving one for just 7500 in the classifieds. I'd say , yeah, he got taken on that deal from the looks of it.
It would appear so if he paid that much. Nice find, but he may have to wait a while to flip for profit.
I'd say he got flipped himself. Nice find, but there's a lot of body work to do, no idea about the interior or the motor, but there's no trunk lid or rumble seat mechanism. I've seen running Model A coupes (all 5 windows BTW) go around here for 8-9K, a really nice one might be $14-16K. Depending on what else is with it, and given the work to be done, I think he paid about 100% too much. and 3-4 is in line. Nice find, though.
Well..that seems pretty excessive to me too...especially when I see missing body parts and a briggs body hood on the ford-body car. I see it has 35 ford wheels on it too...maybe it has some other upgrades to make it worth more...newer engine/trans? Maybe hydraulic brakes? Hope he got good paper on it for that money. Suppose the decklid, front splash pan and doors came with the car?
It's a rumble coupe, if it has doors and paper maybe 4K. He got ripped at 7, but things are only worth what someone will pay. I paid $8k for mine and drove it home.
A friend of mine here in town has a very decent, nice-running original '31 coupe for sale for $7500. All it needs is a new owner.
i think rattrodderdude meant to say his friend asked him what it was worth on a thursday, after he(rattrodderdude) told his friend he has seen them sell for big bucks., his friend decided to buy it on a saturday .
some peoples idea of big bucks may be different than others 7 gs on a basket case is big bucks to me. Sounds more like one of Ryans speculators to me
