So this is my first try at a frame,i am building it for my 30 model a coupe body.I don't have allot of room in my small garage or any fancy tools.I have the front end monted and am currently working on the rear. After this i am planning on mounting motor and trany.
Just some more shots..Motor and tranny going in soon, will have to set up some brake and clutch pedals..
What he said...... you would be well served to put gussets on those weld joints on the Z. Rest of project looks good though, good luck with it. Mike
Here's more shots, just got the motor set in today..garage is gettin smaller and smaller..I still gotta fish plate the 45's..I appreciate all the advice..
Lookin good man. I like what you did with the rear crossmember, never seen a stock one grafted in like that before.
The rear cross was hacked up i got it from a friend and was already cut,so i cut out the tubing and trimmed a only a little and set it inside the tubing..
The body is in really sad shape,i really have my work cut out.The cowl section is pretty much gone as well as the top section.I just bought a complete top that was cut from a car and i will try and piece it together.I will try and send some shots of the body..
The body was pretty much headed for the scrap and i picked it up cheap...I did find some doors also..
The one sitting on the frame is the one i will use. This appeared to be a 50's hot rod,it was sitting on a frame which i sold and decided to build my own.It was channeled 4" and chopped 5" and i plan on keeping it this way..I have the complete wood kit doors, cowl, and complete top.I don't have a deck lid..I also have some patch panels. The area below the rear window is really bad,and i will have to figure something on that..I just couldn't see this thing go to the scrap...I must be insane.
