I found this cast aluminum one in the junk yard a few years ago. It was real pitted, so I sanded down the tits & left the smooth divots. I'm thinking 50's?

A Chevrolet dealer here in the mid 50s to early 60s. A guy stopped me at an ice cream shop when I was out with the family in the 54. He said he was cleaning out his garage, wanted to give it to someone who would appreciate it. It came on his brand new 1959 impala.

Here's a couple I have/had, the one with the Cali black plate is on my '67 Valiant coupe, the other one is awaiting the vehicle with the right vibe, plus one that went down the road with the Satellite it was mounted to. There is some irony in the last one; I'm not a grandparent, but I knocked my lady up and so my parents became one while I owned this car.

Here are two I have. The "Don't follow me" one is on my wifes daily driver :D
The Bertrams one is on my wifes Valiant. They are the original dealer that sold the car in 1966. We are the third owners, and the car has stayed within 40 miles away from my home it's whole life.

That Spirit Of '76 one is really cool. My next door neighbor had one of those "Dont Follow Me, I'm Lost" ones on his old Toyota wagon that he sent to the scrap yard a couple of years ago. I wish I would have thought to ask him for it, I'm sure he would have given it to me..........its probably a beer can now.

My bro and I drove 300 miles out of our way coming home from L.A. to Yakima Wa. to find "Wikstrom Motors", Chevy dealership. Got there around 1:00 A.M. Snuck into the used car lot and swiped a few of their frames. That's our last name, and it was even spelled correctly. Everybody always spells it with a "CK". He's still got his.

Don't want to derail the topic, but how are folks dealing with the registration tags? My plate doesn't have the space to put the tags on it, so I have these funny little aluminum extentions with the tags on it. I was thinking I could change the frame over and add them there, but it looks like from this tread, those that have the same problems just ignored/dont require the tags.

Dick Balch was quite a character. In his commercials he would clobber cars with a sledge hammer. I think he also did some pretty crazy stuff besides his commercials.

weve had this problem afew times, and usually just put the tag a little bit lower. never gotten in trouble or pulled over for it.

There are few few people making frames with 2 indents for the stickers. They can be mounted on top or bottom. That looks better than the aluminum tags.
