built this one a couple years ago for my wife. s-10 sub LT1 4l60e 10 bolt rear. she drives it almost daily in the summer and she wont let me take it apart to paint it so i just fix some of the rust here and there and add some custom touchs.

I run the turbo 400 from the Cadillac with an intermediate shaft that connects to a divorced t-case.

I love the combination. It has plenty of power and scoots this thing around well.

Just to let you know, this truck was 2wd when I bought it and converted it by using '75 F-250 axles, driveshafts and t-case. For the most part it was a bolt in process.

  6. looks like you did the "same" with the front as we did. Do you have a closeup on the front?

I used another top of a grill shell upside down and buick headlights and then she ran it into a curb. After i fix it i will get some photos up.

  8. Sweet I built this one from scratch, obviously with the the Buick design in mind, but I didn't have the cash for the Buick stufff :(

  9. I had a '68 half ton once. I didn't build it it didn't need anything done to it the way it came. Ran like a scalded ape, set good and the color was outstanding.

Not sure about the tailgate, but everything else looks solid on that. Especially the grill.

  13. My old 35...it's gone to a good friend now and I lust for a KB-1....would settle for a raunchy 51-55 farm truck tho..

'56 IH on a '88 Chevy full size chassis. I'm working on adding '55 Buick Roadmaster grill parts and looking for bumper options.

  15. '55 Buick grill parts? got any pics of that? couldn't you use the whole settup from the Buick? that would certainly be a wild look!
We went with a '47-53 Chevy truck bumper! A little plain looking now, but we're gonna as bumperguards from a '51 Caddy!

I'm just using the small spear in the center and maybe the mesh part to help hide the radiator. I only found the grill at the swap.

Keep me posted on your progress. I'd love to see other options.

That's a pretty looking motor man, stump pulling caddy power! I read a while back in some old 4 wheel & off road mag when they swapped the old inline out of and old Land Cruiser Toyota that the Caddy 500 was lighter then the 6 that was in it. The Caddy 425,472 and 500 motors are worthy builds for an alternative to the belly button 350 chevy.

  18. Thanks.

I firmly belive that the Caddy is significantly lighter than the original 6 banger. I wouldn't doubt by 100lbs. With the cast iron 4 speed and all that damn iron in the six's block.
