I have seen a sedan changed into a 3 window but was looking for info on changing a 1935 or 36 5 window into a 3 window.

It is always nice to see pictures on a build and figured someone must have done one and documented it on here.

I figure I should add that ,,,,,sure a 5 window is or can be cool but I am looking at a good priced 1935 5 window and would rather have a 35 3 window. 35 3 windows are harder to find and seem to be way more money. I don't want a 36 either.

    Thanks guys!

There are two build threads taking a five window and turning it into a three window. You can prob search and find them.

The 36 Ford 3-window Cole Foster built for Kirk Hammett started out as a 5-window...

But 5-window coupes can make wonderful custom cars as well!

Ford or chevy? I have a chevy on my page you should look at. It's a chevy 3 window but it's a 36. I'm trying to get rid of it. But it's the real 3 window.

This is the car I am looking into.

Rik,,,show some cool old style 5 window customs. They all seem to be 3 windows to me, maybe I am missing them. Your website is so extensive I probably didn't see them.

Painfulbanter, your 36 Chevy is more than I want to tackle but thanks for the offer.

Ron, I have been following your thread for a while. Good job! Gonna be cool!

90ssp, show me some killer 5 windows. Convince me.:D

Uptown83 I looked for the threads but couldn't find any. Can you?:D

What do you guys think? Cut it into 3 window? Just chop it?

    Nice!
    No 35's? :D

I guess they would be just like the 36's just as a 35.

What do you think of the 35 I posted?
I like it better than the fiberglass car I currently have.

The 35 5w you posted pics of could be a great hotrod with just a little work. I like it already!

Took me a lot of time but I changed this from a 3 window to a 5 window. Figured there were way too many 3 windows out there.:p:D;)

Rpmrex, I think that 35 youre looking at would be a great investment! Doesnt even need that much done to it. Rear lowering, skirts, maybe new paint and some sombrero wheel covers! Chopping it would be cool but maybe not necessary. And i think the 5 windows are just as cool as 3 windows!

It'd be a shame to cut that 5w into a 3w, so much potential already. Then again, I might be biased.

A couple of things to keep in mind
3 window has long doors & short quarter panel
5 window has short doors & long quarter panel
There is a 5 3/4 in difference so if you want to make the 5 window look like a real 3 window there is a lot of work involved to get the proportions correct.
The 1935 3 window production # 31,513 where the 5 window # 111,542 so my thought is if you get or have the car it is a lot of work to do the conversion if you are up to it have the I can do this attitude tools & equipment go for it. First I would have the Rikster do you a photo shop rendering in 3 different angles yes it will cost you a few bucks but it is well worth the $$ to have a game plan other then I want to make a 3 window out of my 5 window & chop it. I had Rik do my 36 roadster explained what my vision was he came up with some Ideas & between the 2 of us I believe we have come up with a great design that is under construction. O by the way my roadster started as a 5 window.

The 5 window you are looking at is pretty nice...even I might have a hard time cutting it up( that was hard to type )...chop it eventually yes, but I dont think I would make a 3 window out of it, thats the kind of thing you do to a basket case
