Need to refinish the 8 board oak bed in my P/U... the original profile is inconsistent, board to board so, after I run the boards through my planer, I'll probably have to make minor corrections to them all... If consistency matters, and it may not, does anyone know what the recessed edge and bed rail groove dimensions should be (depth and width for the edge; depth, width & bottom shape for the groove) for proper fit? Would also appreciate final finish suggestions, based on your experience, by type and brand. Thanks!
A lot of info here. http://www.gmcpauls.com/47-72_BedWood_Info.htm More here http://www.mar-k.com/final_summary.html
I've used Marine varnish on all of my oak beds. Lasts for years and doesnt scuff easily. The above link answers the rest.
