I'm looking for a source for quality 3" thin cut off wheels. I use to get Makira(sp?)(Not Makita) 3"x1/32 disks, they were very hard and zipped through steel.
I use Fastenall. The cut off wheels are the best I have found and there flapper wheels last twice as long as everyone elses.
I use the ones my buddy gets from his work .Real sweet & good . pm me. "AND THE BOWTIE ROLLS ON" (of course he pays for em )
On Time LTD, made in the US 1 877 848 6604 Part # CA3023 3" x.035 x3/8 ID I've bought several hundred from them.
Yep, the Metabo ones are awesome. And I pick up the Metabo ones up at Fastenal when I need them in a pinch...
Northern Tool has 4" x 3/64" ten packs, they last reasonably. I buy at least 2 to 3 packs at time because they go off the shelf fast.
For the last 2 Metalmeets I have hosted Sparky Abrasives were nice enough to come out and set up with some of there wears. The discs I use are both 4" and 3" 1/32 and the performance and price will out do most of the competition.Call 800-328-4560 and ask for Val or Sherry tell them Dan said they were the best. Also look at there abrasive line ,flap discs, sanding belts, etc.I found out about them as I was looking for someone to cut down a bunch of sanding belts that I got at an auction for almost nothing, but they wouldnt fit anything I had.Well they are a one stop shop that will also do this.Dan
Ive found the best "consumables" are bought from welding supply stores. Stores like home depot are trying to sell a decent product at a decent price. The welding stores seem to sell the BEST product, but you do have to pay for it.
I know this is not really what you are after but I found some super thin cut off wheels at OSH (dewalt brand) and they are for my angle grinder. After getting these, holy shit, I will never use a die grinder with cut off wheels again. The cool thing is there is tons of power (never have to wait for air to build up) and the lager Dia. wheel really removes material fast. They are cheap and last quite long. I also find it easyer to control than a air die grinder. Just thought I would share...
