I think he saw Elvis...He actually rebuilt this car I believe as a Street Rod...This was not 1993 I believe a couple of years later....

Let me add a subnote...Owen was runnig a Camaro in the other lane who was well behind. This must have been around 2004 as I now remembered the Camaro was pitted in the next row from me and when he pulled in I saw a big piece of Guardrail almost went through his windshield. It hit the A Pillar and front post of the rollcage and peeled the roof back. While everyone was watching Owen there was real drama on the track. Luckily, everyone came through OK.

I was thinking of posting this on Skip's thread but thought it's more appropriate here.

It's not something i would normally find funny but geez i laughed my head off.

Great to see pics of the East Coast Gassers in action... The ECG club features plenty of beautiful mammoth-sized monstrosities that inspire awe while parked in the pits and excitement when they're storming the strip... Look forward to seeing the group at ETown's Nostalgia Summernationals on Sun July 24th... These gargantuan Gassers possess a certain old-skool mystique that really takes you back... I love 'em

When you see me in my nostalgia respirator mask, you know I'm down with the scene...

There's a fine fellow named "Hemi Fred" Ristagno who occasionally shows up at nostalgia themed drag races here in the northeast. Fred bought himself this original Sox & Martin Duster Pro Stocker... Fred had the late Ronnie Sox autograph the car's white trunk with a black permanent Sharpie marker... It's a pristine example of the early "factory hot rods" that competed in the Pro Stock class... It's a piece of drag racing history that fortunately still sees action on the drag strip...

A few years ago we (Drag Racing Underground) were hired to gather footage to help the Speed Channel in the production of a TV special specifically about the Ramchargers... Captured this one at Maple Grove's "Geezers At The Grove" event...

That's the '53 "Rigor Mortis" Ford (it's so neat when the cars actually have names, and you can read 'em)... For as long as I can recall, the car has been a staple of every single nostalgia race at ETown (for at least over a decade)... The black and gold paint looks real nice in person... One of my faves too...
