First off i want to say that I look forward to every friday because of this thread! I have been lurking for sometime now and you all have truly inspired me to try new things. I'm a Graphic Artist for a sports store screen printing division so none of my day-to-day stuff applies here but as I said you guys made me try something I never would have thought to try.....

    So here goes....

I tried pin striping for the first time ever!!! And man I need a lot more work!!

    Here is the first tries.

I don't have anything new to share, but here's my holiday card for this past year...

I print a bunch to send to clients and friends/family.

I used to go to Kinko's, get b/w copies made on heavy cardstock and hand color each card. That was back when I had around 45-55 to send out. Not enough time to do that anymore...hehe.

  7. The fact that you want to try says alot! Most would not get as far as you did!

All I can say is practice is the best thing you can do....that, and pick up a good pinstriping how-to- book....I like Alan Johnson's, but there's several really good books to learn from.

    Oh...and then practice some more!

Thanks guys it means a lot coming from people on here. I was really scared to try this but I completely understand it's gonna take time and practice! I've been watching a ton of youtube videos and reading a bunch of how-to's to educate my self on this but in the end it's all about practice!

Make absollutely sure you are using 1 Shot or other striping paint and a good striping sword (Mack, Excallibur, etc). Anything else will just aggrevate you beyond belief.

    Oh, and practice!

Yes I have One Shot paint and I picked up a couple of Mack brushes. I do want to try one of Steve Kafka's brushes ( I think it's the #3) but I can't find them locally so I'll have to order it.

    THAT IS AWESOME !!!!!

  25. That's far out! pardon me, I was just having a flashback into the 70's. Your art reminds me of the 70's "mod" style artwork found in Mopar ads. Maybe you found your niche, run with it.
