Advice on 59 Fairlane mechanic..

I took my car to a friend to help me fix it, Well, he fixed it but when he gave it back to me he had also replaced the water pump and informed me he had taken out the thermostat "because you dont need it"... Im just checking bc that seemed odd to me that you just do not need it?! Am I running a higher chance of busting something or running too hot now? Should I put it back in? Is it better without?

PUT IT BACK IN and never go to him agian , ever..

Naaahhh you dont need it. Stupid carmakers put in thermostats
and other unessesary parts just to get the cars more expensive


YES you need it to get the right temp quicker
