ahra vette, There is hope - do a search on here for HotRod28AR and also check out his profile album. His name is Dean and he has restored the old Patrick Brothers IN-BOMBER H/S 57 Chevy. This young fella is like 21 years old and to say that he is committed and respectful to Junior Stock, vintage racecars and 50's/60's lifestyle would be an understatement. Check out the "hole" in the grille for changing out the camshaft (I'm just guessing that's what it's for). Butch/56sedandelivery.
The hole in the grille might cause you to be digging around in a junyard if you were flunked for it! We had missing chrome when we showed up for our first WCS race and were subsequently in a local junk yard getting the necessary pieces to satisfy Greg X. We were missing some substantial stuff though and the holes for our headers thru the fenders were to big......2 fingers worth of room all the way around was what we were held to....
Here's the little I know...a 1958 Corvette, 283 cu.in 250 h.p. Looks like it's at Atco, anyone know who it might be?

I came across this two-part article, on-line, today and I thought I would share 'em. It's the story of a "certain" '67 Camaro...Hot Rod Magazine's Project Car that, for a few brief shining moments, was run as a Junior Stocker, in one of its many iterations, by my ol' "freelancing days" acquaintance/pal/SEMA buddy Jim McFarland. You'll recall this car was "famous" for more than a few "exhibitions" and "displays", not the least of which was as a "cover car" with a billowing Simpson 'chute...a now-iconic shot taken at Bakersfield in '67, and described in the story. Anyway, Part 2 includes the names of several folks previously mentioned in this thread...and at least ONE "regular contributor", here...Mr. Gary Glover, as a member of the "Valley Boys"! Pete i belive your correct on the early rose photo as i remember seeing one i BELIVE running in tulsa? it looked just like that. I got to tell you all,if it wasn't for a lot of you guys and your photos(bob rice album especially) and a scant memory of my own of the paper on the window,with a small magazine photo in the corner(altho i DID NOT remember the name of the car) and it said it had racing history.I would of never figured out exactly what she was! Your all a great bunch of guys no doubt,and i think it would of been a BLAST hanging out at the races with you!
BTW does anybody have a nice photo THE RIGHT SIZE of rose.tried to use one for an avatar but keeps sayin it's to big? and no pokin fun at the blonde!
picture number 2, with the CASTROL middle divider...what track and year?...was CASTROL around back in the 60's...also the track stands look larger that the old tracks...
Andy Kish's car looks like it has one of those stiff hood spring bends in it, or maybe a way to get some air in there...I'll stick with the hood springs.
this is one of the best posts to date....we were all so lucky to enjoy the youth of drag racing...we took it so serious..did we even think, where would we be in 40 years...doubt it!
Maybe somebody knows who the tech guy is...also, what is that hanging under the right quarter panel? I'm a member of the over the belt gang but ...
