Ahh! Good Captain great you asked. The 51 is a "Custom" as you know, and mine is a "Mild Custom" shaved boot/hood/petrol filler/lowering blocks etc, but i have sprooked it out with parts off 1950 and 1951 canadian meteors (the canuk shoebox). Diff Taillights, horn ring, hood ornament / dash emblems..even have a 49 Meteor (merc style) grill soon to be on its way...

    so i guess its a 51 FORD M.C.C.M....:)
Meteors never came down to AU,are pretty rare in USA,and even as scarce in canada..but i managed to stumble across a couple of good folk in canada who had a stockpile of parts..and i thought..aye..our Oz shoes came down from canada anyways..the ol 8ba heads are canadian..so why not do a semi-Meteor clone...to sort of a extent. Some may say im polishing a turd being a four-door...but it gets me creative side flowing.Havin fun!

Thanks Tub, all it took was to see my first one at a car show down here in Adelaide...and walla!..Infection spread. My father in law had two in the 60's and still had the Green Bible and workshop manuals. He gave me the manuals..then the hunt started. Not too often you start with the manual first before you even have the ride :)

G'day to another Aussy, I've said it before and I'll say it again "We're taking over!"
Don't worry about it being a more door, just as cool and you will love it all the same because you built it.
Never did understand the two door four issue some people have.
    Cheers,

    Doc.

tnx for the warm welcome chaps! the two door / four door issue is simple i think... (4 doors = 2 extra doors to cut rust out of ??) :)

  23. The two extra doors come in handy when your all out cruisen and one of your buddies drops a pearler fart, usually after after a few beers and a late night session at Mc Dnlds and you have to exit the car REAL quick....
