  7. Next time instead of drinking beer maybe you could help.

Oh that's right you don't like to get dirty.

  8. So after making sure everything was going to fit and line up properly we tore it all back down again.

Chassis going off to get blasted

While the chassis was at the blasters I coated under the floor with body deadener.

Put some on the inside of the roof too.

  9. Once we got the chassis back from the blasters I painted it with GMH chassis black.

Then we put the cab back on the chassis and started the rubbing, primer, rubbing ritual before we could get some color on this thing.

  11. After I finished all the rubbing down it was time to paint the firewall, inside the door jams and all of the interior sheet metal.
So here is a little bit of a sneek peak at what the final color will be.

    Before clear

    after clear

I'm liking that A LOT! Is it tiger mica?

  14. lookin good, this thing'll be out cruzin' in no time.

BTW scotty, love the new avatar pic. but it'd be hard to take a bad pic of that car.

  15. Tiger mica is alot lighter and more gold in color.
I'm not sure what the color is as I bought some miss tinted color from a mate and then had some more color matched then added the two together.
I must say that I'm liking how it's coming out though.

Whatever the colour is, it's looking great so far!

And yours is already low!! :D

  17. some of the pics make it look sort of orange and in the others it looks really gold. has it got a bit of pearl or something in it or is the camera just playin tricks?

  18. Thanks but I want to get it a lot lower.

  19. It's got a lot of flop in it which I think is caused by the pearl and the light in the shed I'm using.

  20. yeah the right light makes all the difference. i used to have a HZ that looked bright orange at night under the street lights and red in the sunlight, took the guy at the paint shop 2 weeks to match some paint for it:rolleyes:

It's good you got Scotty there with his creative photography. It really makes it enjoyable to look through your post.

  23. Scotty gets to take all the good shots while I work and I take the boring shots to show what I got done..........:D

My '55 F100 looks to be exactly that colour - and it's Honda 'Gilt' metallic from the 80's.

I've an HZ in my F100 - what coils did you use??

  28. Gotta keep plenty of wood in the fire to keep the shed warm enough to work in.
Sometimes it seems like we're doing more wood cutting than car building.

Haven't got a clue what coils I'm using they came with the front end and I don't know what model Holden it came out of.
I bought it from a mate who had a few front ends laying around his yard from cars he had wrecked out over the years he didn't know what it was from.
