Went to look at a couple of old trucks today and these were also nearby. Thought they were pretty cool. I'm guessing maybe 53-54?
Yeah....Both are either 53 or 54's. The first is a Lincoln, and the second is a Merc. They should be saved, if possible.
They don't look to be in too bad of shape either. Being 2 door hardtops, either one would be a worthwhile project.
It really is a 54 and would have had a 256 cu in Y-block..and the photos looks like the engine is gone. Not a real FoMoCo dude but I'd love to own that lincoln.
Yes save them, don't let the crusher get them, honestly I'm sure some of you yanks don't know how lucky you are to have cool stuff like that laying around like that! Any pic's of the trucks? Scotty.
Actually, first year for y-block for Lincoln was 1952 If it was a '53, but it's a '54 But then again, they used the flathead in Canada one more year, so it could have had a flathead if it was built in Canada
Brought the merc home today. As I was loading it, the scrapper arrived. He was supposed to get these cars a couple weeks ago but never showed. He wasn't too happy I got the merc, but cash trumps bullshit and I beat him to it. Still sucks though, I think he took the lincoln. What a waste! I'm going to find out for sure tomorrow. At least one was saved.
so is it a keeper or going to be a parts car? cause I hear this dude just got a 54 merc ..lives in nj..might be looking for some decent parts for his..lol
I hope that lincoln didn't go to the scrapper- if it did find out what scrapper and buy it before it gets crushed.
54 Merc makes a nice custom, one on the newest Customs Illistrated, too bad if they crushed the Lincoln.
