Went to look at a couple of old trucks today and these were also nearby. Thought they were pretty cool. I'm guessing maybe 53-54?

Yeah....Both are either 53 or 54's. The first is a Lincoln, and the second is a Merc. They should be saved, if possible.

They don't look to be in too bad of shape either. Being 2 door hardtops, either one would be a worthwhile project.

  10. It really is a 54 and would have had a 256 cu in Y-block..and the photos looks like the engine is gone.
Not a real FoMoCo dude but I'd love to own that lincoln.

Actually, first year for y-block for Lincoln was 1952

    If it was a '53, but it's a '54

But then again, they used the flathead in Canada one more year, so it could have had a flathead if it was built in Canada

Brought the merc home today. As I was loading it, the scrapper arrived. He was supposed to get these cars a couple weeks ago but never showed. He wasn't too happy I got the merc, but cash trumps bullshit and I beat him to it. Still sucks though, I think he took the lincoln. What a waste! I'm going to find out for sure tomorrow. At least one was saved.

I hope that lincoln didn't go to the scrapper- if it did find out what scrapper and buy it before it gets crushed.

54 Merc makes a nice custom, one on the newest Customs Illistrated, too bad if they crushed the Lincoln.
