Anybody know anything more about this coupe? I think I read somewhere that it was from Australia. It was wicked fast, and the last I saw, it had been wrecked. Was it ever rebuilt? Anyone have any more pics? It was way badass.
Not quite yet Steve, but we did fit the motor today & Chad (Retroline) did some welding on the frame. Yes it was pretty fast, it did an 8.70 quarter mile & it hadn't reached it's full potential. Cheers Dago.
No it's still in bits, Mick must off got confused, We are hoping to have it ready for Chopped in October. Chad got some pics off it today ,i'll see if he can post some off it's current state.
Cool. Thanks for the info guys. I'd love to see more pics of drag version, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it's currently coming along. I'm glad it didn't go to the scrap yard.
Still a long way but the resurrection has started and anybody that knows Al, will know it won't be long.
Good to hear it's being brought back to life. It was certainly a pretty big crash. Here's a short clip from YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0-v4q25M_c
Thanks for the pics guys. It's good to see the car is being put back together. I gotta say I prefered the the deuce rails on it before, but I'm sure he's doing what he can. It's still a cool car though. Thanks again.
Yes it's coming along nicely. It never had deuce rails, they were tin covers over model a rails . Pretty nifty hey. Thanks for the pics Retroline & SRV.
i thort it had been rebuilt too, seem to remember it with "nuttin fancy II" upside down on the door. or was that someone with a similar car takin the piss??
Holy Cow 8.70 quarter mile!!!!!!!!! That must have been a wild ride. Some times those short wheelbase drag cars could be a hand full to drive and at the top end they would move around and get light some times. That must have really gotten the Old Heart ticking a little faster. Jimbo
This car was Nutt'n Fancy II as his 33 hiboy was the original Nutt'n Fancy. It will look pretty much as it did but will be down on power a little.
I have heaps of pics, this one is when it was first built Still looking for the others tho lol will post if you wish me to
Here it is in its hayday before the accident, for those who haven't seen it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0-J1cZLmQU&feature=related
So I'm guessing the cage had to be cut from the chassis? It must have needed a fair bit of bodywork too. So impressive to see the car back in action, it's one of my favourites too.
Hey guys. Thanks for the extra pics. Glad to see it's been put back together. Nice work on fixing the body. Maybe this time it'll keep the shiny side up.
