I'll be speaking on Tuesday Night, the 13th at the Peterson Museum in LA about the making of Pixar's CARS. There are two artists speaking w/ me and it should be fun. If your in the area, come by, say hello and check out the exhibit... I might have some swag to give away! Details here: http://www.petersen.org/default.cfm?DocID=902&CalendarID=636
GEEZ!!! I'd have to hang out and pick my ass for 4 hours!!! We'll see. At least I would avoid the traffic, HA HA HA!
Wish I could come down and say hi. I'm heading to Alaska next week. Maybe you guys could reschedule the event for me?
I have to take my "better half" to the airport that evening (Burbank), if I time this just right I might get the chance to run over there. How cool is that!
I saw your mug in the Petersen email the other day. The event sounds like a lot of fun. Once again, I wish I lived in So Cal My boss' son, Curtiss, recently moved out there to take an automotive art/design type job. I told him about the Cars event at the Petersen and about you. I hope he is able to attend. He is really into cars and animation, I think he would get a lot out of your lecture.
thats such great news, you boys over in e-ville really can make great movies. hopefully i can stop by there that night. i havent been up to the bay in awhile, but my friend keeps promising me a tour of the campus there. is the event free for anyone, or is it members only?
Looks like you just pay to get in the museum: This public program is offered in conjunction with the Museums latest exhibit, The Art of Cars on view in the Hollywood Gallery. Free with Museum general admission. Reservations are recommended. Call 323-964-6347 for more info or reservations.
that would be cool shame we will still be in NZ, hopefully I can convince the wife we should swing by when we are up in L.A. in September my 3y/o is a big fan.
A big thanks to Rusty Red Ram for coming out... It was really nice meeting you, man! (If other HAMBers made it out, I didn't meet you face to face, but thanks for being there as well.) It was a fun time.
Wish I could have made it! Late meeting with producers!!! Ya know how that goes! Well maybe I'll meet you in the future someday! p.s. Tell Lasseter to put a hot rod in Cars 2 !!!
Even if it wasn't about cars, that movie was so well done. The details are amazing. I see different things in it each time!
Great meeting you Jay! See if y'all would have gone, you would have heard how Jay tried to get a "hot rodded Ford" whose name I forget into the movie but it got axed. It was worth it just for the photoshopped images throughout the presentation.
