The Antique Nationals June 5th 2011

I checked their website and there is no official news...

Hopefully we know soon because I know a lot of people traveling down for the event

 

I'll check with some other people I know in the area and see if they have heard anything.

 

I'm sure it's still happening. I was hanging with the Bean Bandits for a bit at Santa Maria and we were talked about the Antique Nat's coming up.No one mentioned of any cancellations.

 

I was on a friends board and rumors abound and the PSCA board is locked right now??I hope you guys get to run next weekend.

 

I never heard anything about a cancel.

Although last year it took a half an hour to get through the gate, for no reason at all. An absolute cluster to get in!

 

I got an email just last thursday ago from "Kat" who is one of the track managers, and at that time, nothing was hinted of any problem...

 

If the Fontana Dragway track was closed, why is there NO mention on the Auto Club-Fontana website?
I don't know....should I listen to some website I've never heard of before or do I listen to the track manager?

Had a blast last year, you can bar-be-que too, I saw some guys selling parts last year, do they charge you extra to sell some used parts? either way I going.

 

Not sure bout charging extra, but yeah your right they do have a little swap meet area... I always want to check it out but never have time!!

If I can get access to my coupe I will be there. I have a family members 30' trailer in my driveway blocking my garage (lost there home because of the economy). they are suppose to be moving their trailer this week, if that happens I will be there.

I'm not trying to start trouble but with this on a majority of other car sites i thought I would make you folks aware of this issue.This was one of the races on my list to attend this summer but cant due to finances.I hope they get things sorted out and the event goes on as planned

 

While I was browsing around on the HAMB's calendar list of events, I clicked on the Antique Nat's June 5.
WTF! Cars running quicker than 13.99 need a roll cage.Is that true? Whats up with that BS?

 

The Antique Nationals will take place as usual this weekend!

I just called to get the real scoop - the injunction prohibits running Fuel or Alcohol cars and I think blown cars as well but all should be good for this weekend.

 

Woah... So we can't run our alcohol injected flathead dragster?

 

I'm pretty sure that's how it's been.

Edit: maybe it's for only open cockpit cars like dragsters? But call and find out.

Just called Dan, he said we should be able to run.

 

Reread the flyer it says open cars at 13.99. need a bar I would think that a regular door car should be good to 11.50 before needing a rollbar. Glad to hear it's still on.

people that spread these rumors that do not apply to certain events need to get a real life. They are like little children on a playground. Instead of spreading rumors and posting them all over to get the drama going, we adults go to the management of these events for clarification.
With the amount of time and energy spent spreading rumors, you could have spent contacting the strip and getting the truth.
