http://www.lvms.com/strip/media/news/590306.html The annual Rockabilly Rod Reunion/NHRA Heritage Series at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway has been affected by high winds this weekend. Eliminations for the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series will be delayed by approximately three hours in an effort to wait out a wind delay at the track. All weather reports indicate the wind should subside approximately at noon and the track crew will need approximately one hour to prepare the drag strip. Today’s forecast calls for conditions to improve throughout the day. The national anthem and first round of Nostalgia Funny Car eliminations now are scheduled for 1 p.m. The second round is tentatively scheduled for 3:30 p.m., with the semi-finals at 5:30 p.m. and the finals at 7:15 p.m. Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s officials would like to thank everyone for their patience. The show will go on. http://www.lvms.com/handler.cfm/template,photo_gallery/sf_id,10199/cat_id,44256/
Thank YOU Doctor!!! I was all set-up here waiting to watch the live stream, and figured something weather related was holding up the show. Jr
Latest update: NHRA Heritage Drag Racing Series postponed to Monday morning due to wind: http://www.lvms.com/strip/media/news/590323.html Sunday, May 29, 2011 -- 2:30 p.m. The annual Rockabilly Rod Reunion/NHRA Heritage Series at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway has been affected by high winds this weekend. Due to continued high winds, Sunday’s drag-racing eliminations have been moved to Monday morning. All rounds of eliminations for the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series will take place on Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day) at 8:30 a.m. All rounds for all classes will be contested Monday. Tickets for today’s events will be honored tomorrow at the front gate. Fans with Sunday tickets may use them for free admission for either the Aug. 27 Back-to-School Bash, one day of the Street Car Supernationals or one day of the 2012 Rockabilly Rod Reunion/NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series. “Our number-one priority is the safety of our racers and we cannot safely compete under these conditions today,” said Chris Blair, vice president of racing operations for LVMS. “The constant swirling and dust make it impossible to maintain the racing surface to safely operate any type of race car.”
I hope anyone in the Vegas area will come out and support this event monday. H.A.M.B. members feel free to stop by and say hi. McCain's Nitro Angel funnycar. I'll give you the grand tour. Mike McCain
