Posted by 47Plym (Bob) over on the P15-D24 site. I am sure that those of you who have gone to the HAMB Drags have seen his pale yellow 47 Plymouth convert at the Holiday Inn.
atomickustom is from Joplin. anyone heard from him? my mother lives on 20th and anniebaxter, less than 6 blocks from St Johns Hospital.(she was out of town). family told me from 22nd st south is gone. i have multiple friends who are now homeless (all safe so far). its nuts.
Well I just got home from joplin as I had to go find my daughter and x-wife they were at church which was right next to the high school on 20th street. Fortunatly they were ok few bumps and bruises but ok. Im telling you first hand it is terrible. St johns hospital is tore up pretty bad. The other hospital sustained a bit of damage but is ok. im not sure how anybody survived it is flattened. I've rode out two of these Damn storms and fortunatly survived both times. If anyone needs anything that is from that area I will help anyway possible
I think Suit may have moved away - not sure though. Check in here when you can, Rob! News says lots of help on the way. Try to hang tough, you guys! Scotty
all my family made it through safe, my cousin lost his entire house with them in it, doesnt look like it would be survivable, but all 5 of them made it out safely. the whole south end of joplin is pretty much gone looks like a war zone
Have any of you from Webb City or Joplin been out near the Elks Lodge by St. Johns? My dad was last seen there and he's missing right now. I just want to know how bad it is in that area.
its pretty bad all over the place, but there is no cell service or electric . its really hard to reach anyone thats around here right now. so dont give up hope many people have come out uninjured that didnt look like they had a chance
Sorry to hear about all the damage. My "sister" from the US are with us in Norway, so she wondered if it hit south of I-44 on 71 south. I just found this link, shows where it hit.. http://www.tripline.net/trip/Path_of_the_Joplin_Tornado-0424207775021003AD43C13C53060EBC
Just hear the same thing. This morning will be tough as the realness sets in for all those who made it through... praying for all.
I woke up early to hear all this bad news, the town has taken a severe blow with a high fatality count. Prayer for all involved, I fell helpless sitting in my comfortable house viewing this tragedy. ~sololobo~
We're fine we are just across town from kevin. I think atomickustom is in that part opf the country. Anyone heard from him? Looks like so far everyone I know is OK. Glad to see you kids are OK. The wife asked first thing this morning if I still had your number then said never mind no phone service in Joplin.
Been watching on the weather channel . What can I do to help ? Are there any local relief organizations to which I can donate ? My prayers and thoughts are with you. John
Here's another link of a Google map of the tornado path. I'm seeing pictures of places outside the path that are destroyed, so it's probably even wider than the map shows. Watched funnel clouds form over our head and form into a tornado in Topeka Saturday. Scary as hell, but nothing compared to this. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U...7.071889,-94.47813&spn=0.086562,0.209255&z=13
Just heard when I turned on the computer at 6:15 this morning! I'm at once sorry and shocked over the still-unfolding losses, and I'm stricken by the heartfelt outpouring of concern, prayers and offers of help on the part of HAMBers. May God bless everybody and give ALL courage, until things can be brought under some more control and basic needs are seen to for those who've lost loved ones and homes. Even Doc Watson over in Queensland -- where the weather has been an s.o.b. already this year, too -- sends prayers and wishes he could be hear with his med kit! That's real spirit. Surely the supportive prayers, words and deeds right now will help speed recovery. Focus and courage to everybody concerned! God bless and keep you all.
Prayers with all of those that live near there. Ive been thin king of going down there to offer help. Would it do any good to load up my generator some tools water and stuff to head down there to lend a hand or do they want people to stay away.
Looks like they need volunteers but not rubber neckers... More info on where to volunteer here... https://www.facebook.com/joplintornadoinfo
