Never owned a car with fender skirts before and wondering how to get these things off to pull the wheels. I see there are 4 fasteners, sort of stud looking deals, 2 on each side with a nut. If you try to loosen the nut they just spin. Before taking vise grips to the stud to keep it from spinning or what not, I figured it would be best to ask instead of f-ing somthing up. Thanks in advance.
someone's "fixed" them for you. The original fender shields would have a lever that sits inside the fender lip. Lift it up and turn it toward the wheel and down it released the latch. The pins are there just to keep them aligned. If someone has put nuts on the pins, they're modified. Here's stock ones from my 62: Post some pics and maybe we can help more.
Thanks for the pic! That explains it. They are still attached the way the should be. The wheel is just about flush with the skirt so I couldnt see the lever deal.
