I have my great grandfathers ashtray from the 20's. It's all glass (even the tire)whitewall with red circle tread on the tire. Says Pennsylvania Vacumn Cup Oilproof 34x4 around the edge of whitewall. Pennysylvania Rubber Company and red VC non skid logo in the center. Never seen one this old.
I have a couple mixed in with my junk show case. Have always wanted a Norwalk Tire one. Not sure if it was ever made. I've never seen one. Do you know? Thanks
From my Grandpa, purchased at the 1940 New York World's Fair. Goodrich Silvertown, 6.00 x 16 4 Ply, Golden Ply
I have 2 general tire ash trays, my Grandfather owned a gas station/garage a loooong time ago. he gave them to my Dad, and my Dad gave them to me.
i have a firestone bias ply with no glass. anyone need it? i also have a US Royal wide white wall tire shop display. same size as an ashtray tire but rubber and real bias ply construction. thats a keeper.
I have a goodyear bias ply, a kelly tire one, a firestone and a goodyear tractor tire one... they are all in our cabin... they dealers used to give them to us when we purchased heavy equipment tires.
I always kinda appreciated the ash trays but had no real reason to own one considering I will never smoke. This on the other hand was too cool to pass up when I dug it out of a good size box of ashtrays at a local swap. It holds a pen for the guest book at our annual car show. i have about 18 tires but no glass, found them in my dads stash after he passed on. i think he had plans of building a scale big rig. not sure where the tyres came from?
Man this brings back memories of when I started working in Auto Parts for Vic Hubbard Speed and Marine in the 80's.We all smoked at the counter,we must have had a dozen of those tire ashtrays!
If you look at my pictures there is one with a fountian pen , I think yours had one also at one time . This is the only other one I have seen
I have a Goodyear, Firestone and a BF Goodrich in real nice shape from when my father in law owned a service station back in the sixties. I always thought they were cool when I was a kid (and now too).
I have two. McClaren made by dayton rubber & a firestone deluxe champion. Big & littles. McClaren is 5" & the firestone is 61/4"
