geez...."what did you pay for it?" That's the only thing you could think of to contribute to this thread? Why would you want to know, and why do you think he would tell you?

I have friends that cannot seem to tell me anything without letting me know how much something costs. I DON'T CARE!!! and I'm certainly not going to trade info like that with them.

Standard Packard. Mid 30's. Usually removed for the Comarant (sp) bird or swan.

Yup. I think this is 36+, I had an earlier one that was totally round, like a radiator cap, but otherwise identical. If I remember right, that one was like 31-35. They definitely do have some resale value.

Yes, as stated it goes to a Packard. I think I might have one in the stash still surrounded by the bird ornaments on the Packard shelf. Man, I'm too young to forget this stuff.

Why not? Are you afraid of looking dumb for paying too much? I've never understood what the big deal is about asking someone what the cost of something was.

You send me $75 to cover the hazardous shipping and I will send it to you so you can dispose of it. :D

Mid-30's Packards had this "bail" type ornament, as well as the "Deluxe Goddess of Speed" ornament, a more delicate winged goddess, holding a wheel and tire out in front of her. My guess is that if you had a '37 Packard, you removed the goddess ornament and replaced it with this bail ornament when you took it to the mechanic for work, because you didn't want your goddess ornament to get broken or "lost" in the shop.

Whatever.  If I score something cheap, I'll tell anyone who wants to know what I payed for it, whats the big secret? Besides, it makes the deal that much sweeter when you can brag about how cheap you scored something.
