Question-are the interior door and window handles on a 53 Merc splined or square?

I like the interior handles on a 53 Merc, and think they'd look good on my F100, but I don't if they are splined with a clip retainer or square with a pin through them. Can someone tell me which? Thanks, Rob

 

I know my 51 Ford has splines so maybe Merc also.

Push panel in if you can, square has pin to hold it on, spline has a clip.

 

Thanks. My 56 F100 has splined handles, so the Mercs should fit.

 

I search through the boxes at swaps for Ford and Merc handles of that era (love 'em), and I've been told 1949 is the last year for square mechanisms.
