That old Alan Ansicar Merc spent many years in Va, after being done over in lipstick red by Al Liverman. What an insane merc!
The top one in your post is from a 1951-52 Packard and the bottom one looks to be 1950 Mercury , with the door piece removed and replaced by the section that used to be on the front fender.. so that one is basically stock, but modified.
Here is a pix of a stock, 50 Merc I brought back from California. Flattie and 3 sp manual trans. No body mods and stock suspension. In the process of getting it more road worthy. It is driveable, but not a driver, yet.
This thread used to have a different title that was hard to search on so I asked Boone and then Ryan if we could retitle it.. I like seeing it show up.
Here is a pix of my chopped 51 Merc. Have not worked on it for awhile. Been busy working on my green 50 Merc and my Cali 50 Merc. Took on way too much work for one person...slow going.
Nice profile Joe ! the cat walk is not almost as long as the trunk as on most of them , verrrrrrrry nice in my book too bad for the broken stance
Thanks Zed. Not sure what you mean about the "broken stance"? I had zero psi on the air suspension in that pix, that is why the Merc is so low. Here is a pix of the green 50 Merc I have been working on lately.
I mean i'm not a big fan of layin frame kustom...but i don't know nothing into air ride : i thought bagged cars have zero psi when parked on the frame ...do you mean your car will not be that low ? that's for sure would be great
That is correct Zed. The Merc is layin frame in that pix, it is not at ride height. I won't build another Merc with air ride suspension.
This is an old thread. But hundreds of Merc photos in it and only a dozen mirrors that actually fit in what the OP's request was. BAD Bob's photo in post 12 probably filled the bill though. Doesn't anyone actually read what the OP wrote in threads even when they are five years old?
There was another thread this morning about what mirrors look good on a '49 Merc. I posted a link to this thread, since there should be plenty of examples here. Looks like he posted a mirror reply here, maybe accidentally, when it should have been on the mirror thread.
Picking this one up on the way home from chicishe swap meet. Its on a lincolin frame thats to wide,I hear metric el-camino is the right wheelbase and narrow enough the wheels dont rub- is this true?
